Our History

Voluntary Gifts Leadership Training Academy is a continuum of a host of private religious schools starting as far back as 1994. The initial idea of VGLTA started in 2008 as MUI Saturday School for expecting mothers, infants/toddlers, adolescents, teenagers, and adults to provide spiritual and scientific enrichment activities to meet the moral and academic needs of the entire family using Biblical and Quranic principles while helping in the community by hosting educational events. VGLTA is owned and operated by Jamar and Cavon Muhammad, M. Ed. to meet the needs of the community. VGLTA strives to focus on students who have the greatest unused and underdeveloped potential. VGLTA utilizes a USTEM emphasis (Universal Science Technology Engineering and Math) along with the TEA curriculum. We offer Early College and vocational training through TCC. We believe in individualized instruction to help our students find their purpose in life. VGLTA offers endorsements in agriculture, business, and journalism beginning in 6th grade. Students are able to practice the art of growing their own foods in the school’s garden. The school is located in the North Crowley area. (VGLTA) provides a safe environment while instilling morals and values from a biblical perspective. We provide discipline in the form of military drills and other physical education opportunities for our young men. We offer an opportunity for creative writing and literary studies which culminate in our annual Open House & Book Review event. VGLTA students attend a field trip every week to understand the relevance of their education and also to provide Weekend Extension activities and a plethora of opportunities and possibilities for their future. Voluntary Gifts Leadership Training Academy has several community sponsors and individual supporters throughout the DFW and United States.
